Funding & Awareness

Appreciative Inquiry

ABQ Zoo & BioPark Campaign

In order to utilize social media in the most effective way possible, this project aims to use Facebook, Instagram, VSCO, and Twitter. Facebook will be used for events, long posts, and educating the public. Instagram will be used for stories and highlights. VSCO will be used for powerful images of Rhinos and efforts. Finally, Twitter will be used for short posts that have a larger ability to go "viral."

By means of educational projects and trips, this project aims to build awareness and funding for Rhino conservation. Historically, "Kinder Morgan" has been helpful for funding in New Mexico, so this would be a beginning point for this project. Another means of fund raising includes the use of art in many forms.

"How do Rhinos contribute to the ecology, environment and economy of their place?” This can be accomplished through cultural sharing of stories , local ecological observations, and shared histories that connect to life and well-being.  Helping to answer questions related to “how Rhinos contribute to habitats”?

Current events and other issues seem to take priority over environmental issues, specifically the poaching of Rhinos. This project aims to keep the public informed and active in helping these Rhinos stay alive. Posters are also useful because they can be easily shared by users of social media.

Beginning awareness and advocacy for Rhinos with younger generations should be the first step. This project focuses on how Albuquerque can help to provide information about Rhinos to the public and how the public can change the Rhino's seemingly grim future.
