Who is Dr. Diana Deblanc?
Dr. Diana Deblanc is a native New Mexican who knew she wanted to be a veterinarian at the age of six. In 1995, she received her DVM from Colorado State University and for the next eight years, she worked in mixed animal practices. In 2003, she opened Performance Equine Veterinary Services and simultaneously returned to school to study acupuncture and chiropractic for animals. With a push from her closest friends in 2017, she traveled to South Africa and volunteered at Care for Wild Rhino sanctuary, fulfilling her lifelong dream of working with Rhinos. In 2019 she was asked to return to South Africa and work as the in-house veterinarian at the sanctuary for the summer. The time in South Africa only strengthened her resolve to fully devote herself to this iconic species. She recently joined the Council of Contributors which works to help fund all of the rhino orphanages as well as the veterinarians who work tirelessly on the front lines of the poaching crisis.
